During the summer, I gained hands-on experience in sales and marketing at Vector Marketing, where I sold high-quality, premium Cutco knives. While the process was challenging at first, I quickly adapted with the help of extensive training and by attending conferences that provided valuable insights into effective marketing strategies. Through this experience, I learned to handle rejection and developed key skills in customer engagement, product presentations, and sales techniques. Using these skills, I was able to generate $3,000 in sales revenue by creating promotional strategies and increasing customer satisfaction.
I have been working at my parents' State Farm agency for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I observed day-to-day operations and assisted with simple tasks like stuffing envelopes, mailing, and organizing. As I got older, I began taking on more complex responsibilities. I’ve worked with Salesforce to manage customer data, used Windows computers to email customers updates and statements, and utilized CareerPlug and IdealTraits to recruit and conduct phone interviews in both English and Spanish. Much of my learning came from observing my parents during client appointments and phone sales, which I was later able to apply during my role at Vector Marketing.
